Legal: terms, disclaimers and privacy

Last updated 22 September 2026

In short: DarkNyx is an automated research tool. It reports what it found, it can be wrong, and what you do with it is your responsibility. Read the sections below; using the site means you accept them.

Who we are

DarkNyx (the "Service", including darknyx.com, its APIs, the customer portal, the onion directory and any Pro features) is operated by NexVision Lab, a business of Nexvision Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore ("NexVision", "we", "us").

Terms of use

By accessing or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it. The Service is for people aged 18 or over. Paid or Pro use may also be governed by a separate written agreement or order form; where that agreement conflicts with this page, it prevails for that use.

What DarkNyx is, and is not

DarkNyx collects, indexes and classifies publicly reachable information, including pages on Tor hidden services, ransomware group announcements, public Telegram channels and public news feeds, using automated software and machine-learning models. It is provided for research, education and personal safety.

It is not legal, security, investigative, compliance, financial or law-enforcement advice, and it is not evidence. Results are unverified leads. Nothing on the Service is a statement of fact about any person or organisation, and nothing is an accusation of wrongdoing. Before you rely on a result, verify it independently and take professional advice.

Safety ratings and labels

Ratings and labels (such as Verified, Unrated, Suspicious, Dangerous, or a category like marketplace or forum) are produced automatically from page content and simple rules. They are not manual reviews, findings, or opinions that a site or operator is unlawful, fraudulent or dangerous. They may be out of date, incomplete or wrong, in either direction: a "Verified" site can be harmful, and a "Dangerous" one can be harmless. Treat them as one weak signal, never as a guarantee of safety.

Third-party content and links

We do not create, host, own, control or endorse the sites, files, posts, listings or claims we index. Descriptions, titles, excerpts, thumbnails and news headlines are derived from third-party sources and may be inaccurate, offensive, unlawful or dangerous. Ransomware group entries are claims made by criminal actors and are not confirmed by us. Onion addresses are shown for research and are displayed as text, not vetted links. Visiting any site is entirely at your own risk and is your decision; we are not responsible for what you find, download, buy or suffer there, including malware, fraud, loss of funds, legal exposure or harm to your device.

Accessing some material may be illegal where you are. You are solely responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you. We take steps to suppress material we identify as child sexual abuse material and to mask personal data in leak results, but no automated filter is complete.

Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • commit, facilitate or plan any unlawful act, including fraud, extortion, harassment, stalking, doxxing or identity theft;
  • buy, sell or obtain illegal goods or services, stolen data, or material depicting the abuse or exploitation of children;
  • target, profile or contact an individual using leaked personal data, or use the Service to make decisions about a person's employment, credit, insurance or housing;
  • scrape, overload, probe, reverse engineer or circumvent rate limits, access controls or safety filters of the Service;
  • resell or republish the Service's data at scale without our written permission; or
  • breach sanctions, export-control or other laws that apply to you.

We may suspend or end access, and cooperate with law enforcement, without notice where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, NexVision disclaims all warranties and conditions, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, uninterrupted or error-free operation, security, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that results, ratings, alerts, translations, summaries or news are correct, that any site or file is safe, or that the Service will detect any threat, leak or exposure that affects you.

Pro alerts and watches are best-effort notifications and are not a monitoring, incident-response or assurance service unless a separate written agreement says so.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NexVision, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors and licensors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, data, goodwill or opportunity, or for any loss arising from reliance on the Service or from any third-party site or content reached through it, however caused and whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) SGD 100. Free users acknowledge that no fees are paid.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those places our liability is limited to the minimum extent the law allows. Where the law requires that an exclusion be reasonable, you agree that these terms are reasonable given that the Service is free or low-cost, automated, and concerns hostile third-party content.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NexVision and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees and contractors against all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these terms or the law, or your use or publication of information obtained through the Service.

Privacy notice

This notice is given under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and, where applicable, similar laws.

  • Searching: the search application does not store your queries or link them to you. Our web servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, time, requested page and browser type) for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting, and delete them on a rolling basis.
  • Accounts and Pro: if you register, we process your email, organisation details, billing information, watch configurations and usage records to provide the service, secure it, bill you and meet legal obligations. Payments are handled by third-party processors; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Cookies: the public site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The portal uses essential session storage to keep you signed in.
  • Indexed third-party data: our crawlers collect text from public and hidden-service pages, public Telegram channels and news feeds. Some of it may identify individuals (for example, names in leak listings). We collect it to support security research and victim notification, mask personal data in leak results by default, and do not use it to profile individuals or sell it as a personal-data product.
  • Sharing: we share data only with service providers who process it for us, where the law or a court requires it, or to protect our rights, users or others. We may transfer data outside Singapore with appropriate safeguards.
  • Retention and security: we keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above and apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No system is perfectly secure.
  • Your rights: you may ask to access or correct personal data we hold about you, or to withdraw consent, using the contact below. We may need to verify your identity, and may decline requests where the law permits.

Corrections and takedowns

If information about you or your organisation in the Service is wrong, unlawful, or exposes personal data (for example, a leak listing or a safety rating you believe is inaccurate), contact us through the address published in the "Changes and contact" section, giving the URL of the page, what is wrong, and why. We aim to acknowledge requests within 5 business days and to review them promptly. We may correct, mask, re-rate or remove an entry, or decline where we reasonably consider it accurate and lawful. Reporting an entry to us does not create any obligation or admission on our part. To report suspected child sexual abuse material, tell us the address and also report it to the authorities (in Singapore, the Singapore Police Force).

Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, compiled data and original text are owned by or licensed to NexVision and protected by law. You may use the Service for its intended purpose and may quote short excerpts with attribution to darknyx.com. Third-party marks and content belong to their owners; their appearance in results does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Pro API data is subject to the licence terms in your agreement.

Governing law and disputes

These terms and any dispute arising from the Service are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, and you submit to them, except that we may seek urgent relief in any court. A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of them, save that NexVision's affiliates, directors, officers and employees may rely on the exclusions and limits above. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force and the provision is applied to the maximum extent permitted. These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the free public Service, and our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver.

Changes and contact

We may change the Service or this page at any time; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend, restrict or discontinue any part of the Service without liability.
